Maven has established itself as the undisputed flagship of UM's "Titanium Force" mid-range line. Unlike the MEST series, which occupies a similar price segment, Maven's design philosophy focuses on leveraging mature and refined technologies to offer a more cutting-edge sound identity. Consequently, every product in the Maven series is built with titanium as the primary material. Beginning with Maven II Moonshard, the series has drawn inspiration from the Moon, a celestial body both familiar and mysterious. From surface finishing techniques to our interpretation of sound, the image of the Moonshard is intertwined with the inherent character of titanium.



FROM BRIGHT HIGHS TO POP STAR: THE EVOLUTION OF THE MAVEN TRILOGY

Looking back at the first two generations of Maven, we explored very different sound directions. The original Maven employed the most refined balanced armature architecture of its time, optimized to deliver a bright sound, with prominent highs and an unmistakable Japanese flair. Its crisp and exuberant presentation earned it great sales success abroad and made it a classic for many fans.
With the Maven II Moonshard, we broadened our horizons with the hybrid combination of dynamic, balanced armature, and electrostatic drivers, achieving a balanced result, rich in musicality, and with exceptional high-fidelity character. Its sound is vibrant and dynamic, especially effective for reproducing pop vocals, which earned it the title of "the pop star." After its launch, it was very well received by fans in Japan and abroad. Despite being limited to 799 units, customer inquiries continued long after it sold out, a clear sign of its appeal.

BUILDING ON THE PAST, BREAKING SOUND BARRIERS: THE BOLD LEAP OF THE MAVEN III

Seeking a significant breakthrough on the shoulders of the already established and successful Maven II is, without a doubt, a great challenge. Thanks to the extensive development experience accumulated in our bone conduction and Maven lines, the UM team has long mastered the art of integrating bone conduction technology with metal chambers, designing the ideal cavity structure that allows the bone conduction transducer to fit perfectly within the titanium housing. Regarding the driver configuration, Maven III combines a hybrid architecture of dynamic, balanced armature, electrostatic, and bone conduction drivers, making it the most structurally complex product in the Maven series to date.

The first impression Maven III leaves is like gazing at the night sky after rain: vast and refreshingly clear. The sound is transparent and articulate, faithfully reproducing every detail and texture of the music, with each note represented with an extraordinarily defined contour. Then, the powerful bass and exceptional dynamics offered by the independent dual dynamic drivers transform visual spaciousness into an imposing sense of grandeur. Thanks to this vivid contrast between highs and lows, we present a V-shaped equalization that stands as a true benchmark in the industry. Maven III definitively demonstrates one thing: UM, and only UM, can imbue the traditionally "aggressive" V-shaped equalization with unparalleled musicality.

Maven III features an entirely new 3D printed titanium alloy casing. The cool metallic feel of titanium is combined with geometric and mechanical surface textures, creating an unmistakable industrial visual language. The totem motif interacts with the surrounding engravings, balancing the rigidity of the form with refined craftsmanship and fusing futurism and art. The metallic surface retains the polished and natural character of titanium, with matte and engraved layers contrasting sharply, austere and sober, yet brimming with tension.


MISTROCK CUSTOM CABLE

The MistRock cable is specifically designed for the Maven III and features a 22 AWG gauge, ideal for headphones. Applied to the Maven III, it offers exceptionally rich information density, a great sense of spaciousness, and impeccable vocal presentation, with effortlessly controlled power and delicacy.


PREMIUM LEATHER CASE

The black leather case with ice pattern, exclusive to the Maven III, is made with approximately 80% imported Turkish leather. Its grainy texture features a deep, shiny tone, with a warm and flexible feel. The geometric SK5 metal details embedded throughout the case balance rigidity with elegance, creating a striking and distinctive style.
